From the time he could walk, Kaid Jaret Olson-Weston has rode or drove anything with wheels he could get his hands on. From power wheels to scooters to skateboards, “Kid KJ” has always had a natural talent for driving. He was blessed with a natural understanding of the dynamics of vehicles, 2-wheel or 4-wheel, and he was born with the desire to push things to their limits. As the years have gone by, KJ has moved on to quads, go-karts and now, monster trucks!
The first time father Tod took KJ to a monster truck event, the young superstar knew he wanted to be a monster truck driver. Tod thought he had found the perfect thing to satisfy KJ’s interest, acquiring a Grave Digger go-kart only to find that the small tired, underpowered vehicle just wasn’t big enough!
Kids who want to be race car drivers start out in go-karts, so Tod set out to support his son’s monster truck ambitions by contacting monster truck veteran Steve Combs and commissioning him to build a 1/2 scale professional mini-monster truck. This truck would come to be called the Monster Bear and in no time, KJ was being booked to appear at monster truck events all around the country at the young age of only 6 years old. This incredible story has captured the hearts and minds of monster truck fans all over the USA.
But that was only the beginning as KJ has become a trailblazer for other young kids who want to pursue a career in monster truck racing. Uncle Tod Motorsports has been at the forefront of this movement and in 2012, the 3-truck “Kid KJ & The Lil’ Mighty Monsters” team began touring all around the USA as part of a brand new Jr. Monster Truck League.
